The TEN DOLLAR CHASE BANK CREDIT CARD PAYMENT PROTEST CHALLENGE by MIDDLE CLASS AMERICAN JOE.

Middle Class American Joe has come up with an idea that I think is worthy of sharing with you all. Middle Class American Joe is suggesting anybody who cannot afford the Chase Bank increase in the monthly minimum payment from 2% to 5% to just send in 10 dollars the month the increase goes into effect.

I think I may join in with this idea.

However, I think it is prudent to actually deposit the difference between the 10 dollar payment and the previous monthly minimum payment, into a CREDIT UNION account. Consider this your monthly "escrow account" where you will keep the necessary funds to pay the Chase Bank monthly payment based on the prior 2% monthly minimum, when Chase Bank reverses course.

If enough people did this, it could send a wake up call to Chase Bank. Not only did their own customers not send in the ridiculous and unethical 5% monthly minimum payment, but their customers also opened up a credit union account which they may end up keeping open even if Chase Bank reverses course.

Can the 10 dollar protest payment idea really spread wings and reach the one to two million Chase Bank customers over the next couple of days? Remember, Chase Bank customers who only pay the 10 dollars should be those who are affected by the 2% to 5% increase in the monthly minimum payment. Anybody else doing it might just be hurting themselves.
If you agree with this idea, but don't share it or spread it with anyone else, the idea will fail. If you plan on doing this idea, YOU MUST SHARE IT with your email lists, anybody you know in the media, and ASK THAT THEY SHARE IT AS WELL.

This article has a SHARE ICON at the bottom, click on share and you can post this article on any blog anywhere that you have access to, it's that easy to share this article, and spread the idea.

SOMEBODY BESIDES DAILY-PROTEST ACTUALLY MENTIONS THE ALMOST ONE TRILLION DOLLARS IN CONSUMER CREDIT CARD DEBT.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. Somebody besides Daily-Protest.com has actually decided to mention the almost one trillion dollars in consumer credit card debt. Yeah the article is offering literature for sale, but at least they are addressing the issue!

I've been mentioning the consumer credit card debt quagmire for the past fews years. My two credit card warning websites Credit-Card-Cap.com and Credit-Protector.com have been up for a few years now.

Finally, Chase Bank is in the news for harming people unnecessarily with their raise in the monthly minimum payment and somebody besides me is actually talking about the consumer credit card debt issue!

The tide is turning!

Day-35, Chase Bank Protest, Mothers day. A Shocking amount of stories trying to justify banks lowering credit lines ACROSS THE BOARD!

Sunday, May 10, was spent chronicling several stories about how the banks are justified in lowering credit card credit lines, even on their best customers. Thankfully, there are honest people out there telling the truth about how bad our economy is.

However, it is important to realize that the fulcrum of the world's economies failing is the credit card divisions and their suffocating methods involving punishing their best customers when incentive based credit card programs would work much much better.

I have been protesting from home the past 10 days, writing many many articles for both
Daily-Protest.com and also a series about Oprah Winfrey and her reluctance to do a television show with the credit card companies and point out their wrongness.

I've also identified some very important blog articles about how bad our economy presently is.
Asia Today Global economy article.

Five Economic Storms

Did Oprah ask Barack Obama to do a town hall meeting about credit cards to take pressure of her for NOT doing a TV show about this.

Oprah Winfrey "Let them eat Chicken" seems to matter more than fighting for her own viewers versus the credit card companies.

There have been a ton of family issues since the passing of my father that require attention on a daily basis. Taking care of mom, tributing my fathers garden by growing all the food he would grow every year, trying to keep our 13 year old shitzsu alive and healthy, all the paperwork and bills, trying to clean house, both inside and out...

...And continuing doing my video business. I recently found out that the person I videotaped for america's got talent was advanced to the next preliminary screening round based on the video (and their performance of course). Juggling all of these things is very very difficult.

I will gladly post pictures of anybody who bothers to put up a daily-protest sign in a storefront window, bulletin board, or countertop.

Day-34, CHASE BANK PROTEST. CHASE BANK and FRIENDS use PUNITIVE MEASURES for REDUCING CUSTOMER CREDIT CARD DEBT INSTEAD of INCENTIVE BASED METHODS.

I feel blessed the past few days because I finally put a face on what the credit card industry, the banking industry, Bernanke, the FDIC, and Barack Obama are doing incorrectly in their battle to turnaround the economy.

ALL of these entities are relying on punitive based actions (punishing the consumer) to reduce consumer debt, when it is fairly obvious that incentive based actions would work much faster and much more effectively.

I don't mean to come off like a braggart, but I have already designed several incentive based credit card paydown programs that would instantly have a positive effect on our economy.

My values have always centered around "people can make a difference" and to not use numbers to hurt people when we could use a different numbers paradigm to actually help people instead.

I would be more than happy to share my incentive based credit card debt paydown programs. All the credit card industry has to do is hire me.

The powers that be have chosen to punish those who already have credit card debt and who don't meet new, very strict credit card standards. The problem with this approach is it was done without ever first attempting incentive based credit card debt paydown programs that probably would work much better, faster, and more effectively at stabilizing our present economy.

Lets try and structure the credit card industry discussion into these two talking points, punitive vs incentive based credit card debt paydown programs. If you happen to get the media's ear, tell them.

Tell the media you don't think this is the time to punish people with credit card debt when incentive based credit card debt paydown programs would provide more stimulus than the stimulus package and bailout bill is providing.

Have a blessed day.

Day 33, Chase Bank Protest. Barack Obama to conduct town hall meeting about credit cards. I guess myself and other consumer advocates are not invited.

Reuters reports that Barack Obama will hold a town hall meeting about credit cards.

I find this type of political maneuvering disturbing.

The sad truth about credit card debt and the credit card industry is that tens of millions of people are being oppressed by the credit card industry, but these tens of millions of american don't think they are being oppressed as long as they can make the monthly minimum payment. Ironically, it is the low monthly minimum payment that has indentured these same millions of americans without them realizing it.

The other sad truth is not every complaint about credit card debt is a valid one. A town hall meeting will simply meld together the less valid, lack of personal responsibility complaints with the gut wrenchingly sad, unfair, and anti american behaviors that ARE PERPETRATED against american citizens by the credit card industry.

The United States has a population of over 300 million and over 200 million adults. That means that even if 10 million americans have been absolutely treated unfairly and are indentured to credit card debt for the rest of their life, that still only works out to 5 percent of the adult population!

This also means that if the town hall meeting is a random sampling of the adult population, then only one in 20 at that meeting will have the hard hitting examples we need to hear about. Imagine going to a football game in which only 5% of those in attendance actually understand football, and the rest of the stadium is comprised of tennis, baseball, basketball, golf fans and so on.

I don't want the hard hitting core issues to be diluted by somebody complaining because their credit line they were not using was cut in half, or that they were preapproved for a card then denied. The reason I don't want to hear about those issues is they will DILUTE the MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT ALREADY EXIST AND ARE MORE HEINOUS!

Extremely important credit card issues that already exist include, the theft of frequent flyer miles from AMEX customers, those miles were then "reallocated" by American Airlines to Citibank in exchange for lower interest rates on loans that American Airlines requires.

Extremely mportant credit card issues include CHANGING TERMS WITHOUT ALLOWING THE CUSTOMER THE RIGHT TO OPT OUT once the see the changes on their billing statement.

Extremely important credit card issues include not dropping a credit line to either below, at, or just above the amount of credit card debt a person already has. Lower the card limit if you must, but give the consumer a bit of a soft landing as well.

Extremely important credit card issues include changing the credit card industry from punitive based policies that are punishing people with stellar payment histories to incentive based policies that reward credit card users with excellent paying and responsibility records.  Also, reward anybody who is intent on PAYING DOWN their debt.

Extremely important credit card issues include a higher monthly minimum payment requirement for college aged kids just starting out with credit cards. A TEN PERCENT MONTHLY MINIMUM PAYMENT REQUIREMENT FOR COLLEGE KIDS would reduce the amount of debt a college age person would acrue and limit the credit card companies losses as well.

Extremely important credit card issues include not labeling customers "toxic assets" because they have low interest credit card accounts that they EARNED by having an excellent payment history.

As you can see I've just outlined six really important credit card issues that could take an entire town hall meeting to discuss at length, especially if customer horror stories related to these six issues are discussed as well.

Instead, Barack Obama's town hall meeting will probably see such a bombardment of issues that there is a chance that the american citizen will be made out to be a whiner and complainer.

DAY-32, CHASE BANK PROTEST, RESPONSE to NY DAILY NEWS ARTICLE ABOUT BANK STRESS TESTS.

I tried leaving the following response to a NY Daily News article about bank stress tests. Their software clumped my multi paragraph response together as if it were one long paragraph. My response was also cut off without alerting me where that cut off point would be before I submitted my response. So, this response is for you, NY Daily News.

--------------------------------------------

How come there is no "stress test" for the flow of money back from the consumer to the banks? Why is it only about the banks and the amount of money they actually have in "reserve".

Isn't the biggest cash reserve the american worker and how far their weekly paycheck can be stretched?

Instead of helping to maximize the american worker's weekly paycheck, that paycheck is being contracted by boorish methods such as ridiculously high credit card interest rates and the punishment of anyone who has earned low interest rates because they were never late on a payment.

Labeling a low interest credit rate as a toxic asset, we can do better than that, no?

Stealing frequent flyer miles from the most reliable AMEX customers, then reallocating those same miles from AMEX to Citibank so Citibank can make a sweetheart loan deal with American Airlines, we can do better than that, no?

Chase Bank hitting their own best, most reliable, most trustworthy on time payers with an additional 150% monthly minimum payment on top of the payment they are already making, we can do better than that, no?

Telling people the economy is about to recover even though credit card debt is at ONE TRILLION DOLLARS AND CLIMBING, we can do better than that, no?

Until nationwide credit card debt is lowered from the one TRILLION DOLLARS it currently stands at, the economy WILL NOT turn around.

Credit Card Companies should be using incentive based credit card programs to get more cash flow return from those still working and those who still owe them money, rather than punishment based credit card programs that cause real consumer stress, distress and unrest.
