I've been trying to track down how much Chase Bank is spending just in California alone on their insipid and uninspiring "Blue Sky" commercial ditt featuring the John Lennon song Instant Karma. (...On and On and On, Well we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun, well we all shine on, everyone come on...)
Lennon's song is covered by Peter Murphy, former lead singer of the band Bauhaus. The commercial is from the advertising agency of McGarry Bowen. I haven't found the advertising budget but it has to be at least 10 million dollars, maybe much much more based on the commercial running once every half an hour on many different channels during prime time and late night news time for the past several weeks.
While Chase causes misery, stress and financial hardship with their "Change in Terms but you can't opt out" policy, Chase Bank glibly spend millions upon millions trying to delude people into feeling better. Yech. Even David Letterman just used the phrase on and on and on.
