I consider this article to be incomplete and seems to give the impression that we the consumer, can do nothing to stop Chase Bank. The article reports the story about Chase Bank raising monthly minimum payments from 2% to 5%, but they leave out critically important information like Chase Bank's refusal to allow the consumer the right to OPT OUT of any change in terms.
The article then quotes Chase Bank and does not even bother to get an opposing viewpoint even though hundreds of blogs are voicing their displeasure with Chase Bank's methods, methods that have yet to be replicated by any other bank.
The article appears to me to try and validate Chase Banks position. You have to reload the story once or twice before you see the comments section appear. The end result is, the article simply reinforces the idea that Chase Bank can do whatever it wants, and we have no say. That of course, is nonsense. Lets fight back, but in a polite way.
Please email the reporter ( KCheatham@wsbt.com ) and politely ask why she missed the issue of OPTING OUT.
